A tasty pint of Fat Tire Amber

What: It was time to wish Nik Wilets goodbye as he moved on from his job with Skirt.com. It was party time at his favorite haunts… the Metro (for non-Augustans it’s at 11th and Broad in lovely downtown Augusta). Nik is fairly well know there to say the least. The advent of WiFi means just about anything can be accomplished in a day’s work there. I showed up a bit later since I had to pick up Mr. Ben. Being a three-year-old he came running in screaming “mommy, mommy” only to get quickly distracted by the electronic bowling game enough to grab someone’s leg that wasn’t mommy and then head straight to the bowling game. He learns quick. Mommy, Mrs. Dan, stuck a dollar in to play and next thing I knew he was reaching for my wallet wanting another dollar. THREE! Already knows how to pick dad’s wallet.

So, before I lost all my money to his bowling…. and the golf game next to it…. I thought I better get a pint. The Fat Tire neon in the window caught my eye. I thought a bottle would coming my way but I noticed the Fat Tire handle. Fat Tire Amber is now available on draft in the area. When it was announced in mid-May that Fat Tire was heading East from Colorado for the first time (legally), the larger commemorative bottles featuring “Georgia on my Ride” and “Pedaling into the Palmetto State” would be the only available until mid-July when regular bottles would arrive. Now it’s on tap.

The tap handle at the Metro for Fat Tire.... wow, look at that handle for Magic Hat!

I rather enjoyed my pint. I’m glad that now one of my favorite brews is only a handle pull away.
